We've found some common problems that will help you keep your Hurco operating !

    PROBLEM:
    After operating the red "Power On" switch on your Hurco, the "Power On" lamp comes on but doesn't stay on after releasing the "Power On" switch.

    TECH TIP:
    Check the "Emergency Stop" switch, then check the "Air Pressure" switch and then your "Spindle Overload" contactor, if applicable !  If, after completing each of the previous steps, you are still experiencing a startup problem, check your " Emergency Stop String ."  Click HERE for a guide to trouble analysis for your particular machine.

    PROBLEM:
    Ultimax control locking up or not retaining Part Programs, or losing lead screw/backlash mapping.

    TECH TIP:
    Try removing or deleting all stored part programs in memory and then restart master. If no change, then the memory board needs to be sent in to CMC Systems for memory upgrade.

    PROBLEM:
    Ultimax control locks up.

    TECH TIP:
    Turn machine off then back on to reset control. If it persists, try reseating all cards in the ISA card cage. Further problems, contact CMC Systems.

    PROBLEM:
    Missing graphics display on Ultimax.

    TECH TIP:
    Turn machine off and reseat satellite boards on MPU and/or check CRT tube for power.

    PROBLEM:
    Suspect master is bad on B or Bx controls.

    TECH TIP:
    Instead of reloading master, try going into the cassette menu and entering "9," "enter adv," "enter adv." The screen will display either "Load Master," or "Data Block Last." This is a "warm boot" reset.

    PROBLEM:
    Control locks up or loses master.

    TECH TIP:
    Try removing 50 pin buss ribbon, inspect for foreign objects and reinstall 180 o on cards.

    PROBLEM:
    If you have a hard time loading cassette tape into B or Bx controls.

    TECH TIP:
    Try cleaning head with alcohol and if it still will not read, consult CMC Systems for purchase of a Tape Emulator with Windows based software. See "New Releases" page for details.

    PROBLEM:
    When using Emulator and the message appears: " Tape Interface Not Ready "

    TECH TIP:
    Check all cables and connections from your Hurco to your PC.

    PROBLEM:
    When running a program in auto the machine will shut down: EMERGENCY STOP MOTION ERROR.

    TECH TIP:
    1) It is possible that the X,Y, or Z Axis Servo Amplifier is not adjusted properly. (Signal, Tach, Bal, Etc....)
    2) Check positioning accuracy. If an axis has a bad or dirty rotary encoder or scale then the power velocity can not be reached in a rapid move.
    3) Slow down the rapid feed rate in Data Block 0.1.
    4) If the problem clears up, clean or replace encoder/scale.

    PROBLEM:
    Rough Running Axis

    TECH TIP:
    Try cleaning TACH BRUSHES on the motor.

    PROBLEM:
    Characters on the Display "Bouncing."

    TECH TIP:
    Try fine-tuning the "BAL" pot on the amplifier.

    PROBLEM:
    Loaded Master, but it won't let you in.

    TECH TIP:
    1) Check for a stuck button on the Control Panel
    2) On a "B" Control it could be the Servo Control Board
    3) On a "Bx" Control it could be the MPU Board
